Introduction
I am an unrepentant bag addict. Indeed, yes, I am a bag lady! (In the best possible way …… I hope!) You can never have too many bags, after all. Come and join PennyPot “Bag Ladies” and create a lovely bag. Make one for yourself, make another for a friend, make some as Christmas presents, just make some for fun!
Those who wish to attend beginner’s workshops and are busy during the working week will be able to come to our series of classes designed to build on basic skills. Our ‘Sew Easy Rail Fence’ lap quilt is both striking and simple to complete. Sew Easy Rail Fence makes an excellent first quilt for those with a basic knowledge of rotary cutting. Absolute Beginners foundation pieced pots is a great class for those who wish to try this clever technique.
Linda has a number of quilted postcards to show you in her workshop. This is a lovely activity and you will be able to complete one in the afternoon and start on another one too. Quilted postcards have caused quite a stir in patchworking circles recently.
If you would like to make a day of it, I am going to show you how to make a tote bag in 20 minutes on the same day. Yes, I do mean 20 minutes! These bags are great. As part of the effort to get plastic bags off the streets, come along and make this bag and then go and show your friends how to make them too. They really are lined, wadded, reversible bags and can be put together in 20 minutes ….. Believe me, I’m a quilter!
In addition to our Saturday workshops we have two weekday courses to offer. Sue Propst will be offering her Intermediate Sampler Quilt course and Linda will be teaching her Hand Sewing Group on a Friday afternoon. Both of these courses run for 12 weeks.
Jo Bebbington has designed a new 6-week, “Free-motion”, machine quilting course. Learn how to make your machine work for you and finish the course with a lovely machine quilted cushion panel to be proud of.
ON many of the courses, I have put a bigger illustration 'behind' the thumbnail - so click on them to see a bigger image.
In an effort to improve efficiency regarding class requirements our system has changed, so I would recommend you refer to the information regarding this, which is at the bottom of this page along with course registration information.
As with the last series of courses, we are putting links to the course requirements as we get them, so please check for updates.
